Jody
West - Vet Nurse
Jody
has been working at Armidale Vet Hospital since February 2006.
Jody especially enjoys surgical nursing, and is very talented in
handling feisty cats, perhaps partly because she is owned by one
called Mylee! Jody also has 2 gorgeous
Border Collies named Pollyanna and Chiyo and a husband
known as Westy!
Robbo
- Clinic Cat
My
name is Robbo and I am the clinic cat at Armidale Veterinary
Hospital. I was bought in with a badly broken hind leg which
wasn’t repairable through surgery so it was amputated. I was
also microchipped, de-sexed, vaccinated and wormed (the works).
The staff here fell in love with my cheeky, relaxed attitude and
decided to keep me. My duties include eating, sleeping, lying in
the sun (or in front of my very own heater), and demanding
cuddles from anyone I choose. I don't miss my my leg at all
(except when I need to scratch myself). I am a much loved and
spoilt boy!
ROBIN CAMERON
Robin Cameron is a sixth generation Armidilian
and is a descendant of the McLennan family from Kilcoy at Scots
Corner near Wollomombi. After leaving school at PLC Armidale she
started as a working pupil at the NEGS Riding School where she
was to remain for over 30 years, rising to the position of
Director. Robin rode her horse to work and home again each day
until she was old enough to get her drivers license. While
working at NEGS Robin had two trips to England to gain
qualifications (not then available in Australia) as a riding
instructor and in stud management. She has been a member of the
Armidale Horse and Pony Club since 1963 and represented the
Club, Zone and State on many occasions in riding, show jumping
and eventing. She also competed in the Melbourne to Sydney
Harness Marathon in 1987 and has competed successfully in many
horse endurance rides including the Shahzada 400km ride.
She was nominated as Zonta Woman of the year
in 1992 and in 2006 received the Armidale Service to Sport
Award. On leaving NEGS, Robin began part time employment with the Dangar Street Vet Clinic and in May 2006 became a permanent
member of staff. Robin seems to know almost everyone in town! Robin is married to Lyall and they one daughter
Rebecca.
