Dr Nigel Scott
- Veterinarian
I
joined the Armidale Veterinary Hospital Twelve years ago as the business was
expanding and Hugh wanted someone to share the load. Prior to that I had
worked initially in small animal practices and later in an equine practice
at Scone, ultimately becoming a partner there. While at Scone I was given
the opportunity to work for a time in an equine veterinary practice in the
centre of horse breeding in the UK at Newmarket. I grew up on a farm at
Forbes and in the 80's returned home for a few years to work on and manage
this farm. With this varying experience I now work in all aspects of
veterinary work, however my special interests are in
sheep and horse breeding,
specially
artificial breeding. My wife Belinda and I have four children live on a
small farm near Armidale where we are able to have a number of pets (3dogs &
a cat), horses and some livestock, (sheep and cattle).
Dr Jason
Andrews - Veterinarian

I was born in Parkes NSW and went to school in
Sydney. After leaving school, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree at The
Australian National University, Canberra. However, it was my life long ambition
to become a veterinarian; it was not until 1998 that I had the opportunity to
return to university to fulfill this ambition. Prior to returning to University,
I was employed by the CSIRO / CRC for Vertebrate Pest Control in Canberra as a
molecular biologist.
Upon graduating as a vet I worked at Bulimba
Veterinary Clinic, QLD. This was a 100% small animal practice. Here, I was
involved in all aspects of small animal Medicine and Surgery. I then moved to
Queanbeyan Veterinary Hospital, NSW, to work in mixed animal practice. Here I
worked with hobby farmers, alpaca studs, goat studs and cattle properties
outside Canberra.
Finally, before moving to Armidale with my
family (Karen and 2 kids, (Amy-Jane, and Alex), the dogs (Poppy, Gema and max)
and the cats (Rusky and Tonka), I worked in Scone NSW, involved entirely in
Equine reproduction.
My interests include all aspects of dog and cat
medicine and surgery, equine reproduction, SCUBA Diving (PADI Instructor), snow
skiing, and horse riding.
Finally, but certainly not least, we have the
privilege of breeding Warmblood horses. Our horse numbers have grown to 15 this
year!!!
